It's a new category in response to the growing number of requests.
The spam is just a general warning. Some people, including myself, don't like reading about every awful thing or accident that happens in the frum community. If you know someone personally who needs prayer and you feel posting it is appropriate then this forum is the place to do it.
If you get an email or see something on another site and you don't know the person then it doesn't need to be posted here.
